If you or somebody you like has been diagnosed as having diabetes, one of your first steps will generally be to discover a diabetic blood glucose meter. There are two things to keep in mind as you do your research, because this piece of hardware is bound to be part of your life for the clear future.
Diabetic blood glucose meters are transportable and engineered to be employed in home, especially by those with diabetes. There are now heaps of models of glucose meters. A glucose meter ( or glucometer ) is a medical device for judging the rough quantity of glucose in a drop of blood got by pricking the skin with a lancet. A consumable element containing chemicals which react with glucose in the drop of blood is employed for each measurement.
Diabetes is a serious disease. It tends to cause a lot of discomfort to the patient and can even fatal in nature if not taken special care. Since diabetes is a chronic disease, it does not have any permanent cure. However, with proper care and treatment, one can expect to live a long and happy life with this disease.
i got a free diabetes testing kit so i tested myself when i get of work and it was 93. i ate 2 candy bars, 2 sodas, a Hawaiian Punch, french toast with syrup and a frapachino within the past couple of hours. then i went to sleep and when i woke up i did it agin an it was 90. i know for sure that is not diabetes but could i be hypoglycemic? my mother says this is something to be worried about but i would like to know from someone with a lil more knowledge about it
So I’ve been doing quite a bit of research around the efficacy of the H1N1 vaccine. Basically I have found that research has NOT been done comparing the flu shot, or H1N1 vs a placebo. Surprising – to say the least. It is considered ‘unethical’ to test in this way. Yet, the Hepatitis C vaccine was developed using inmates, and this vaccine is widely used today especially by those traveling to various vacation destinations.
My question is this:
I am a couple years short of qualifing for medicare. I fell ill a year ago and when i came off of medical leave i was laid off. I have been using cobra coverage for 7 months and was hoping to come up with more affordable solution then paing my cobra plus my medications every month. I have not used my cobra for anything but medication seince i have used cobra. But every online diabetic supply place seems to only be geared to serve medicare recipiants. any relivent info would be appreciated.
Thanks, John
Herbal Treatment For Diabetes : Fact Or Myth.
Diabetes has been recognized by western medicine since the early 1800’s as being one of the most prevalent and controllable conditions affecting a large portion of the population. However, Asian cultures have recognized this fact much earlier and and have developed and been using herbal treatments for diabetes for centuries. These treatments are widely regarded as effective, even today.
The National Retail Federation has updated its “Buyer Beware” list of common household items sold through online auction sites. Certain products, including diabetes supplies, according to the NRF, have a higher than average risk of being stolen or tainted, and, therefore, can pose serious health risks to consumers.
“If consumers do not purchase diabetes supplies from a legitimate retailer, there is risk of products being expired, exposed to extreme heat or cold or even being sent from overseas and repackaged,” said Marc Wolf, registered pharmacist and CEO of Diabetic Care Services. “The result can be inaccurate readings obtained from faulty testing supplies that can potentially cause a person to treat a high or low ineffectively. The outcome could be diabetic shock or a coma.”

They go away after he has a snack or meal. The doctors have tested several times for diabetes but all the tests have come up negative.
Because hypoglycemia can effect your driving performance (even
modestly low blood sugar can do this), if you are at all prone
to hypoglycemia, I personally would strongly recommend you check
out your blood sugar level each time you are about to drive.
Prior to you putting the key in the ignition, test your blood
sugar. There are some great glucometers out there, like the
Accu-Check Compact with the Accu-Check Multi-clix lancet pen.
