Detection of Pre Diabetes Symptoms in Children

Not knowing that you have pre diabetes is the worst. You may feel like nothing is wrong with your body, but actually your body is already experiencing the condition. Type 2 Diabetes has developed into a disease that has become feared by many people. Strange, but whenever someone thinks they might have diabetes and symptoms of diabetes like excessive thirst, frequent urination, headaches, blurry vision, to name a few, they automatically now jump to the conclusion they have diabetes. This is exacerbated by people who are also sedentary in lifestyle, and who are obese in physical proportions.

In some ways, jumping to these sorts of conclusions is helpful, as it can alert people to the possibilities that you may be diabetic, whereas about 25 plus years ago, because obesity wasn’t the epidemic it is today in our society, it wasn’t considered as being a likely possibility when the same diabetes symptoms were experienced. There also used to be a false assumption that because you were diabetic, you had to avoid sugar at all costs. Hence why it was termed sugar diabetes by the layperson a few decades ago. So having diabetes symptoms should be a warning sign to you, particularly if it is prevalent in your family history, or if you are obese, to undertake testing for diabetes with your GP.

In the past week or two i have been really thirsty so i have been using the toilet more fequently, dizzy, blurred vision and arm and leg cramps. i sometimes can’t stop shaking until i have something to eat which my appetite has increased. i don’t know if i am worrying for nothing because i was tested for diabetes about 11 months ago so i’m not sure if anything could have happened in a year. I am 17 now so i’m not sure if diabetes is common in teenagers. Thankyou, any help or advice is much appreciated.

were there any other things the symptoms ended up being?

I have seen many on this subject but I really need answers. After 2 years I became sexually active again with my now fiance’. Up until this time and through 2 pregnancies, I’ve had regular periods (35 days). During my first two pregnancies I’ve ignored symptoms as the flu or stress or anything else (I thought that I had diabetes with my first child, don’t know why) But after two children and two different pregnancy experiences I figured It was all in my head. But now I’ve completely skipped my period (late by eleven days), And I have all the symptoms of pregnancy: nausea (worse when I first wake) that will last all day and is a bit severe, Sore and very full/heavy breast (i’ve stopped wearing a bra altogether), slight headaches, chronic fatigue, food cravings (when I’m not nauseous) and bloating. The bloating is so bad that I have started to look as though I am 6 months pregnant. With my first two children I was almost 7 months before I ever showed. Something about that is not right. I’ve had a blood test and taking the most sensitive test on the market and I am convinced that I am not pregnant but someone needs to tell my body that. I’ve never heard of PMS like this and what about the skipped period. I have never been more than a day or two late without being pregnant. So if I’m not pregnant why does my body and that tiny little voice in my head still trying to convince me otherwise. Would appreciate any opinions I can get. My doc looks at me as though I have mental issues. Ok so then let’s address them so I can get back to my daily. No Doc says come back next month if you skip again. what’s going on with me. any opinions?
and yes i’m going to the bathroom ALL the time, either to pee or just sit there wondering if i’ll ever poop again (sorry)
